Watch the sizing of S/M to L/XL to Jr. S/M....
The chest protector itself is good.....but.....the L/XL is barely a size up from the S/M. We will be returning this one or reselling. Son was in the S/M needed "next size" this was not much larger at all from the S/M, so we went to the Bauer Jr. GSX S/M instead. Do not get caught by the Bauer Youth S/M to L/XL, the is maybe one inch of difference.
A great buy, love the velcro at the shoulders.
This is the best youth chest protector I have seen. M son doesn't wear a neck guard, we can simply move the velcro closer to his neck. We do use an External neck protector so make sure you use some kind of neck protection. We just don't need both of them with this chest protector in my opinion
