Expensive Junk similar to the Hyperlite sticks
I bought and used this chest protector twice and had some noticeable bruises from it especially in the elbow area. I would recommend buying a Warrior or CCM Chestprotector for half this price and a lot better protection. Even Vaughns which have a lot less protection are better and lighter than this unit. Lightweight and pro level protection
Outstanding C/A - nice improvement over the Vapor 2X Pro while retaining the fit and feel of the prior unit. Very lightweight with high level protection. Removing the lower portion makes this C/A very easy to tuck in. Fight strap on the back is a nice feature and works well, but I generally use these with suspenders (run over the floaters) and this unit stays in place nicely.
Best Chest Protector From Bauer
I bought this chest protector right when it came out and as I put it on, I fell in love. It is incredibly mobile out of the box. I have used it a few times and it is an absolute tank. I play at a really high level and have had absolutely no protection issues so far. My only issue is the sides. It has the stomach pad that wraps around your side and on the top, there is a piece of… read more foam that just rubs in my armpit. Also, it might just be the way that I’m wearing it, but I look like a sumo wrestler when I’m on the ice. When I wear it off of the ice I look normal but when I have all of my gear on I look like I’m 600lbs. I’m about 6 feet tall 190lbs and wear a large, so I don’t know how it looks like that. Depending on who you are this might be a good thing or a bad thing, but I prefer when it doesn’t make me look like that. Other than those minor complaints, I would 100% recommend this to anybody who has the money to spend on a new chesty.
