CCM 390 Player Wheel Backpack Hockey Bag Review

Classic CCM quality, and innovative too

I recently purchased this backpack to use on public transit, and it's worked so much better for those trips than any shoulder bag. The bag seems really durable (including, importantly, sturdy wheels) so, while only time will tell, I expect it to hold up well. While the shoulder straps can't be tucked into the bag, I've found that it's easy enough to simply tie the ends of the across-the-chest… read more strap firmly to keep the shoulder straps tight and prevent them from dragging when wheeling the bag. Also, surprisingly, the bag is absolutely large enough for an adult's equipment---I'm 5'10", 175, and have true senior gear, and it all fits (when laid in the bag efficiently) with room to spare. I highly recommend this bag, as there's nothing comparable I've found on the market that's wheeled yet reasonably compact, and can still be carried as a backpack too. Well done, CCM!

Good bag but handle doesn’t stay up

My son loves this bag, works great but the handle doesn’t stay up anymore when extended. Took about 2 months until that broke. Beside that it’s fine.

Nice looking bag (black and red). The zippers on the skate pockets look weak. They have not failed yet but I think it is a matter of time.

Takes a little work to get everything to fit

Had to take some time to figure out how to get all equipment into the bag. Elbow pads went into side pouches with skates to make fitting everything else into the main section easier.

Zipper stitch and backpack strap coming unstitched

This bag is not even a year old and the zipper stitching is coming out in 2 different spots, along with one of the backpack straps coming out from the seam. This is our second bag that the zipper stitching is failing on. Great idea for a bag, but horrible construction.

Love the pack pack and luggage pull

We bought two of them. A little smaller than a full size bag. Which is good because The kids love carrying and pulling there own equipment. Would have been nice if the main compartment had some divider for the helmet and gloves to help air them out after use.

Great Bag

Just purchased this bag for 10 year old squirt and it's amazing. We where able to but both his skates in one of the side pockets his gloves in the other, and we still have tons of room in the main pocket. It is a senior bag and he is able to wear it as a backpack. The only down side is there are no stick holders other than awesome bag!

An outstanding option for players who have to lug their bags up stairs, take their gear on public transit or those who want to maximize the vertical space in their homes. The bag fits comfortably on my back, and the shoulder straps seem very strong. It's also nice to have the wheel option for longer walks from the car to the rink. The front pocket is also perfect for a few pucks and rolls of tape.

Nice bag from CCM

Nice bag quality with nice features. I like the side skate pockets. It really takes the load off of your one shoulder wearing it like a backpack. I recommend it if you’re looking for a compact gear bag.

Great features

I bought this few weeks ago and I love it. My child is carrying all the gear. I don't have to do it. The bag is nice because you can wear it as a backpack as well especially when you have to use stairs.

Great bag. Perfect for my 8U player.

My son was wanting a backbag gear bag, we went with this one. All of his gear fits nicely and still room to spare. The handle collapses and comes out of the bag quite smoothly.

So-so replacement for my original CCM backpack

This replaced my old CCM backpack gear bag. The old one didn't have wheels or the really hard back on it so it was confortable to wear as a backpack gear bag. The wheels and hard back seems to have added an extra 5 lbs to it and is not comfortable at all to wear. Also the straps do not have loops at the ends so upon releasing the ends go all the way into the buckle making it difficult… read more to retrieve. It may be good as a roller bag but not what i wanted. I wish i could return it.

It's a versatile, roomy and functional hockey bag!

Purchased this bag about a month ago and I use it for playing ice and roller hockey as well as a bag for my gear when I am reffing. It's got plenty of room and seems to be well made - I've had no issues at all. My last bag had issues with metal zippers which corroded rather quickly. This bag has plastic zippers so I don't believe that it will be an issue. That's what I was looking for in a bag and I found it reasonably priced at Pure Hockey.
