About Eddie Olczyk - Beating the Odds in Hockey and in Life
Eddie Olczyk is known for his work as a broadcaster and analyst for the Chicago Blackhawks, but he has also overcome many personal challenges in his life. He was born with a heart condition that required open-heart surgery when he was just a baby, and he Battled cancer in his twenties. Despite these health scares, Olczyk went on to have a successful career as a professional hockey player. He won a Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers in 1994, and he represented the United States in the Olympic games in 1998. After retiring from playing, Olczyk became a commentator and analyst, working for various networks including NBC, NHL Network, and Comcast SportsNet. In 2017, Olczyk was diagnosed with colon cancer
