Our family used this for both of our children. Started at minimal weight bearing as they were no more than 1 yr old and now my oldest is skating using the second stage on her own and youngest is having fun chasing her using the harness as he is only 2. It's easy to adjust how much weight they support on their own, making it easy to have them just sit in it if they get tired. This will save your back as you don't need to bend over to hold them.
