Bullet-proof tongue?

I suppose the huge tongue would protect your ankle when blocking shots, but no, not good for skating! My son loved his 2015 vapors and when they wore out we bought the 2017 model. I knew as soon as he put them on after baking them we were in trouble. He couldn’t get his heel to lock or the tongue to flex enough to get into a good athletic position. The on ice trial confirmed that we’d just wasted a grand. Our advice to players who loved their 2015 1x’s, try before you buy! We ended up going the custom made route, if that’s not in your budget, go down to the vapor model that doesn’t have the crazy tongue.
