Why Bauer why?

Last years 1X's were by far the best skate I've ever worn, so I was really excited to get a pair of this years model. When I went into Monkey sports to try them on I fell in love with the fit of the boot and the overall structure including the new tongue feature. Got them baked and ready to go for a skate the next morning. The second I stepped onto the ice I knew I already wasn't a fan. The new tongue locking feature felt like it made it harder to engage my toes into the ice during quick starts and made crossovers feel very "clunky". I wish I could return these and get another pair of last years model but I can't find them anywhere and mine are already baked/sharpened. Currently on a mission to find a professional to swap out the tongues. Why Bauer, why? Why mess with a perfect product... It seems like every year there has to be a new feature for marketing purposes, and this year I feel like they missed the mark completley. I highly doubt any NHLers will be using this skate without a new custom pro stock tongue.
