No ResultGreat pads, poor handling
I've had these pads for about a month and I love them. They took a while to break in - coming from 10 year old, X-soft pads, at least – but they've proven worth every penny. Considering how they've broken in, I'm constantly amazed at the soft feel but strong rebounds. Compared to my older pads, these slide effortlessly, and I'm considerably more quick in the third period than I used to be - no waterlogged leather weighing me down. One thing that I don't love: the interior leg wrap often gets caught on my skate, exposing my ankles to undue risk. It's easy enough to fix, but kind of a pain. Overall, I'd give the pads 4.5/5. I secured a great deal from Pure Goalie, but was left wanting from their handling and shipping. For one, they attachable bootstraps didn't come with the pads, and while their friendly and resourceful customer service rep Tyler got me sorted, and it took a few weeks to get Pure to ship them. As a hybrid style goalie who uses a boot strap, I was disappointed to need to track them down. Additionally, Pure Goalie sent the pads with noticeable amounts of dirt and grime on the pads. It certainly isn't the end of the world, but when you spend more than $1k on a pair of pads, I think it is a fair expectation that they come clean and unused.
