Gear is bone dry once the timer is up. (There is a dial you can select how long you want to dry for). Some assembly required doesn't take long. Comes with a carrying case to take with you on road trips. Don't lose the little hangers though! I was hoping that the dryer's UV feature would eliminate some of the smell from my gear, but that doesn't seem like the case. I may try cleaning my gear again. 4 stars because the quality is suspect, so be careful with it, especially when traveling. I've seen the central connection break loose on my buddy's dryer so the hanger piece wobbles and won't stay up.
