Fantastic Helmet

I've been a Jofa and Reebok guy for a while, and recently wore the FitLite series of helmets. It was time for a replacement and I decided to put brand name aside and look at the best helmet I could get with a $200 budget. I tried on the Bauer IMS 5.0 and while I preferred the look of the Bauer, the CCM Tacks 710 fit like an absolute glove. The cage profile also seems to afford better vision for me compared to cages I've used in the past (I miss my half shield, but after a rough high stick to the face I decided to go back to the cage for a while). The adjustment of the helmet is the easiest I have ever used - one switch on the back of the helmet to flip and adjust away, and clamp back down when finished. Finally, there is no sticky garbage inside the helmet like the Reebok/CCM Fitlite series - one warm day in the garage and all of the gel lining is sliding around inside the helmet and eventually sticking to your head during wear. Not so with this one. I highly recommend at least trying this helmet out - CCM got this right.
