No ResultA step backwards from the QRL
Protection was an issue with the QRL gloves, Warrior mostly fixed that here, but removed segmentation in the backhand for "added protection" but the glove no longer breaks with your hand as well as it did before. Flex cuff is still a great feature and the palm feels comfortable... but this glove could be better.
Comfortable and so close to perfection
This glove is a nice upgrade over the already solid QLT gloves. The palm is extremely comfortable and more traditional feeling. The backhand is nice and snug and the internal materials are a very pleasant place to be for your hands! The cuff covers well while not getting in the way of gloves. My only complaint is the foam protection package is thinner than it could be and should be. CCM doesn't offer the protection package they do at the pro level retail (unlike Bauer, which is the same foam package on both). This glove could be perfect, but CCM could make the D3O thicker on the fingers and backhand to make an even better glove.
2 steps forward, 1 step back
It is great to see Warrior listen to the feedback on the protection issues on the QRL glove and to beef up the side of the palm protection on the wrap around palm design. But it is disappointing how the backhand of the glove is less flexible than the QRL. In the name of "protection" they went from 5 segments to 3 segments, which makes the backhand stiffer and not as ergonomic as the outgoing model. The backhand previously wasn't an issue because of the segments. A comfortable glove that could be better. Still offering a unique flex cuff that isn't rival at the retail level.
Pro look with buttersoft feel
This is the QX glove to get if you want the NHL style materials and the more traditional palm. But protection is compromised to make them feel super soft and broken in out of the box. Flexible cuff should move more than it does, but mostly stays locked in place when playing.
A step back from the 1X
This glove is basically a re-painted APX2 Pro... but without the PoronXRD backhand insert. It is a solid glove that uses PoronXRD in the fingers and backhand of the glove. But removing the insert makes the newer version more expensive for less features. Solid glove, and very close the the ones the pros get. But it could be better and was in the previous iterations.
The QX but with better protection
The changes to this glove from the QX Pro is the graphics and the foam package... and that is a good thing. Warrior listened to feedback and beefed up the foam package on the DX compared to the QX. The glove is now slightly less comfortable but will stand up to slashes and pucks much better.
The best tight fitting glove out currently
The palm is unbelievably comfortable and the "pro palm" option. No gimmicks, just slightly thicker than the NHL palms. Filled with PoronXRD in the backhand and fingers the protection is fantastic. Fit is really tight to the hand, but it also moves REALLY well with but the large cuff can get in the way of big elbow pads. Comfort is one of the best, liner materials feel great on your hand. 3 piece thumb is still the best on the market. This is currently the bar to beat for all new gloves.
The most comfortable palm there is
These gloves could be better if they had a better foam package and used PoronXRD. But the stretch nylon on the palm makes the glove feel more broken in than any other palm. Protection is solid for the price.
The best value glove
Protection is fantastic, fit is fantastic and it cannot be beat for the price. Only complaint is it runs a bit hot and could use stretch gussets on the fingers. 14+ fits like a big 15 inch glove. 14 fit like FT1 15
Poor craftsman ship & bad idea
The idea behind the z-palm is great... but the craftsmanship is awful. You can see in the photo how the pinkie is facing outwards... the index fingers and pinkie point in the wrong directions and are super awkward on your hands. You can feel the zipper in the gussets, so your fingers are touching plastic all the time. The zipper frequently breaks, and with the actual zipping part on the glove and not the palm once it breaks you can't just swap it out. Only good thing about this glove is the velcro removable liner.
