Best alternative to a hockey pants - strongly recommended

I bought in blind - only on the base of HM reviews. I must say -it i best investment I ever made into hockey equipment ever. Most value for me is great hips protection - my past pants from top lines of major brands never gave full protection to my hips - almost every two weeks a fall to the side caused bruises on my hips. Now I feel fully protected and safe! This is also very lightweight - less than a kilo! I'm not feeling them at all. It gave me another dimension of movement. Major difference to top brands is - much better all around leg, hips and pelvis protection. Kidney part a little bit shorter in comparison to major brands and initially feels unusual but anyway it covers all area to the ribs. The only downside is that it stated as not washable in the washing machine, but majority of plastic inserts are removable and I will wash it in hand wash cycle w/o spinning in cold water.
