So happy with these skates - Alkali Revel 4 Senior Roller Hockey Skates

I’m originally a roller hockey player (quads) and then converted to roller blades and eventually ice, when I turned 30. I’ve been playing ice hockey for 27 years now (3 teams) yes, I’m addicted. When the pandemic hit and I played my last ice hockey game on March 11, 2020 I decided to borrow a pair of inline skates. Fortunately they were a size too small and I ordered the Alkali Revel 4 Senior Roller Hockey Skates, on a hockey buddy’s recommendation. Apparently his friend is one of the owner’s at Alkali, however, I’m only writing this review because I just receive an email from hockeymonkey asking for a review and because I love the skates. Sorry about the long intro...I Ordered the skates on April 5th, was worried with the coronavirus that they wouldn’t get to me quickly but they shipped on the 7th and arrived on the 10th. I’ve been skating the path and street around my complex for 15 days now, 30-45 mins at a time when it’s not raining. The comfort of the boots is incredible. My ice hockey skates are 4x the price of these and these rival my Bauer Ice Skates in the comfort department. The tongue I noticed is very thick, I’m guessing for blocking hockey pucks and balls, but also added comfort if you tie your skates tight. I usually skate between 3 and 4 miles at a time at a decent pace for an old guy and the skates move well. The wheels I understand are a little soft for outdoor skating and I’ll need harder wheels not too far into the distant future. There’s literally zero vibration going over rough pavement and cracks in the road. The style is pretty sharp, mostly black with blue trim and blue wheels. Crossover with these skates are pretty effortless and using the strava app, I’ve skated over 20mph in them. I skate with elbow pads, hockey Glove and hockey stick. No hockey pants, so I honestly have not done much by way of a backwards skate, but I’ll get there. Just not interested in visiting a hospital, especially while the beds are all occupied by covid-19 patients. The only thing I was disappointed with is not bring able to find a coupon to apply to my order. $200 for skates is fine but then tax and shipping, ugh, but still my favorite purchased, by far, while in quarantine. Be safe and stay healthy! MikeV - Long Island
