Bought it for my 12u, he said he likes the helmet, but he sweets a lot more in this helmet then he did with the CCM. This is a good mid range helmet that is nicely padded, not too heavy and overall, fits well. When on sale is a good deal.

Excellent protection

My son has worn the 950x the past year playing varsity high school hockey and raves about the protection and how he doesn’t feel a thing when taking a few off the grill hard enough that he can smell burning rubber of the puck deflecting. I would recommend this product for high level player protection.

Good Quality for the price.

I bought this for my son, he feels it is an improvement over his last mask. Is comfortable to wear and offers good protection. It helps to minimize the feel of shots and there is no ringing in his ears.

U12 AAA player

My son just completed his first season playing U12 AAA. He is not one to complain, but I noticed he was acting timid toward the end of the season. Well every time he was getting hit in the head his ears were ringing (wearing a different helmet), so he was shying away from shots. Went with the 950X because I couldn't afford the VTX, but straight out of the box this was an awesome… read more helmet. First time wearing it he took a hard shot off the left side of his forehead (just above the cage over the left eye). He looked at me and started dancing, so I knew he didn't feel a thing! It was an instant boost to his confidence and he hasn't shied away from a shot since. Spend the money, protect the brain, keep goalies weird!!!! He was exactly 22" and the M/L fit perfectly and allows him plenty of growing room. Took less than 5 minutes to adjust the helmet and get that perfect fit.
