Nice cage.
Nice cage, really lightweight, Runs small, we had to put a size medium on a small helmet to make it fit right.
Awesome cage but pricey
I bought this cage to go with my Bauer ReAkt 75. In case you're wondering, I wear a large w/large cage. It's so light. I was a little worried about it breaking during game play. That worry was all for nothing. I've taken some pucks and sticks to the cage and that cage still looks like new. For reference, I play in a novice league where puck and stick control is a worry. This cage… read more is expensive. but. so is dental/facial surgery even with insurance.
Not worth the money
I used this cage for a few month and went back to the Profile II for a few reasons... The Reakt is really light, this was a big selling point, and yea it feels super light, but once it's on your helmet and your helmet is on your head there's no noticeable difference between this and any other cage I've worn over the years. The Reakt has an odd shape that sits really close to your… read more face as compared to the more classic shape of the Profile II, this is personal preference but after wearing Jofa cages for years I much prefer the shape and look of the Profile II over the Reakt. Price... the Reakt is not worth the additional price over a Profile II. The Reakt does have a nice color to the titanium and will also not rust which is possible with a Profile II if not cared for properly, but I could replace a Profile II and still make out dollar wise over a Reakt. The sizing on the Reakt is the same as the Profile so for someone like me it was perfect (CCM tends to run pretty large), I wear a large cage on my small CCM V08 helmets and cages fit great on the helmet. Overall I'd say to save your money and get a Profile II over a Reakt.
Good Mask
I have been wearing a cage for over 40 years and there isn't much you can review about one from another. I started noticing awhile ago some cages stuck out further then others. This cage has a different profile then all the ones i had in the past. The visibility is the same on both style of cages. I replace cages every two years due to rust, lets see what this one does in two… read more years. I ordered a small helmet and a medium cage. I tried a large cage on the small helmet and it did not work.
Side straps are more difficult to do up and high cost are the drawbacks!
Good cage overall but pricing can be a prohibitive factor! $100.00 Canadian? Light weight strength and puck sight factors are the positives They are less expensive than the dentistry bills you might need though Lost front chiclets can cost $1000.00 each!
Worth it, read why
This cage is amazing. It does not have the flat wires like some of the other higher visable cages, but the cage wires are failry thin, and at this point you're splitting hairs worrying about getting mm's off the wire circumference. Its insanely light (it's really hard to believe), you can barley feel it when you first hold the cage in your hand; it really makes you wonder if it… read more can protect your face, feels like it might shatter because it's so light. But no, it's very strong, can hold up to anything. My only negative feedback is it's slightly too tight to fit up into the J Clips on the helmet, but just barley, it is tolerable enough, and will get better over time as your head, helmet, and cage adjusts. On a side note: you should wear a cage. Unless you played juniors and/or above, for a considerable amount of time and are really used to no cage, you have no reason to not wear a cage other than you're a tool bag who wants to look cool. I see about a half dozen idiots get their face smashed in during each season, and they all agree it's just not worth it. even if you have the best dental/health insurance in the world, reconstructive surgery is just not a fun process to go through. Again, every single guy I know, even guys who've just suffered from a few stiches, they all agree it's just not worth it.
Exellent for Reebok 11K helmet
Fits perfectly with Reebok's 11k helmet. It's verry light weight, good quality and the grid did not disturb the vision. Until now I had used "Bauer concept lll full face shield". I dont think i will go back to this again. I use the same size as the helmet.
Amazing
Seems expensive but its worth the price. Lighter than a feather. Match it up with the Easton 700 helmet for the lightest combo ever. Excellent product. You get what you pay for.
