Got dull fast
So I got these runners and had them sharpened, I've played 2 games on them, and did a stick and puck session. At the end of the stick and puck, I could feel the edges were dull. The original steel lasted much longer. I'm going to do a light honing on them and see if that helps with the longevity, but I'm not sure it will help much.
Not terrible, not great
These blades are not the worst, but they are not as great as they make them sound either. They are very lightweight which is nice, but it is not noticeable enough of a benefit to outweigh the cons in my opinion. They need to be taller blades so you don't bottom out. Also, the lightweight aluminum feels more cheap than high quality, I'd rather have something that feels more solid… read more even if it means a little more weight. I wouldn't buy these blades again, I'd rather go with the taller and more high end LS blades in the future.
Weight Matters
The steel on these blades is the same as with LS2 and LS3, so if you felt adequate glide with LS2's and 3's, then these blades will work well. Many people say that these blades break or bend too easily. We have had about 50 pairs of these, and not one blade has ever broke or bent. I am sure that they break or bend more easily than full-steel blades, but they certainly do not… read more break or bend easily. They have one major positive attribute: low weight. Weight matters, particularly in blades. If you can deal with the drawbacks (below), then these blades are a good choice. They have two drawbacks: 1) They are not high enough for today's skaters. Bauer needs to come out with a higher version of this blade. Good skaters will bottom out too frequently with these blades. 2) The steel quality and finish could be better. In summary, it's time for Bauer to make a lighter, full-height blade with high-quality polished steel.
I cant believe they still sell these
These are probably the worst blade i have seen. The break and corrode very quickly. You will be lucky to get 2 months out of these. Another overpriced piece from Bauer.
Poor design, over priced, break easy
I have broken 4 runners to date. I have only had these skates less than one year. Overpriced for what you get. They are lightweight and very easy to change blades. I believe the two metals together cause the weakness.
Great Design
These replacement skates are a gift from god. They never break. I've walked on concrete before. No break. These babies go the distance and deserve a Nobel prize or something.bottom line these things are pretty sweet
