Play Safe Face Mask Review

The mask works for my 10 year old

My 10 year old prefers this mask over a regular mask. When he opens his mouth, the mask opens up a little so he can take a drink through his water bottles' straw. It's convenient and he doesn't have to keep moving his mask during practice/games to take a drink. When not drinking, the mask stays closed and provides the usual protection. The fabric is soft and comfortable.

Comfy mask, best with cage

Comfortable mask, WORKS with a cage, as it heavily fogs a visor. As far as using it off the ice, it is comfortable albeit slightly snug on the nose... if it didn’t cause such fogging issues I would’ve given a higher star ranking

Awkward mask with a hole in the mouth. Looks odd and fits uncomfortable all while providing no protection.

Good sports design, but too small

This mask straps go around the head. There is one that goes around the neck, and one that goes over the ear. This is a great design for sports as it gives the mask support when you are doing vigorous activity. The problem is that even the large size of the mask is too small for me. I don't really care for this, but I don't think this impedes its safety effectiveness as the material seems adequately thick. For reference I wear a size 8 hat, and the largest helmets I can find. If this mask fits you, I would give it a try.

Nicely made but fits a little snug.

This mask has a split upper / lower layer which opens up. As a USAH referee, I bought this mask thinking I could insert my whistle in between the layers when I officiate games. Unfortunately, it does not open big enough because the two layers overlap. However, it is nicely made. It does fit a little snug on my medium size head.

Good single period protection!

I am a fairly sweaty guy... this mask is a great single period mask. It breathes fine while dry. The water bottle/mouth guard access opening was useful to stay ready between shifts while staying hydrated. I found myself cheating and keeping the gap open to breathe more easily. Totally pointless, who designed this?

A mask with a hole in it completely defeats the purpose of wearing a mask. For a product which was supposedly designed to stop spread of aerosols and assist you in working out, it does neither. Breathing is very difficult as you end up inhaling the mask with every breath. Everyone on the product development team for this should be fired. Love that it has an opening to drink

I bought this a couple weeks ago, when the announcement was made that the kids had to wear masks on the ice. This mask works great , my son can still wear his mouth guard and get a drink. It was tight when I first bought it but it was easily stretched to fit.

Works well

Mask works well. You can actually breath in it and it stays in place. The water bottle opening is a nice feature too.
