Get the Bauer helmet mask instead
Fogs immediately, lasted one shift before I pulled it off
It works. Wouldn't use it if I didn't have to.
Allows for not having to wear a facemask during Covid protocols. Easy to install, but definitely contributes to more fog and condensation in the visor.
Okay concept, but not clear in its purpose
This generally seems to do what it advertises. When you install it, it forces your breath away from going straight through the cage/shield. I used this with my full shield, and it fits. However, the way it attaches using included straps seem cheap. Certainly the straps are decent for what they are, but they should have been even better. And there are 2 in a pack, so that makes the… read more value a little better. The biggest problem, is that it doesn't seem to add anything that wearing a mask already does. And while finding a good sports mask is not easy, it is still probably a better solution. If you find a mask that fits under a helmet that doesn't attach to the helmet, even better. And there are masks that do attach to the helmet, but are more traditional and include space for a filter which again is a better solution. It is not terrible, but I would recommend almost any other mask solution, and the way it straps to the mask/shield seems a bit cheap.
Wishful exceptations
I was hoping this would be more versatile??? be able to use it with a CCM helmet? I know that CCM has the mask type , but it cuts off the peripheral vision. But recently purchased the Tektor 3 pack, so we are excited to see how that one works.
Right Product, wrong application
It was the correct product - except I had the wrong face shield - I did not read all the info correctly - my bad!! Sold it to one of my teammates for exact purchase price - he loves it.
Fogging is a major issue
Once you add this guard, we couldn't stop fogging on either of our helmets. The splash shields fit fine, but you couldn't see anything after about 10 minutes of hard skating.
Awful
This product is awful, even with spray to help prevent the shield from fogging, it still fogs straight up to your eyes and you can’t see a thing. Don’t waste your money cause you’ll want to get rid of it after one game.
Fogged Out
This worked out sort of. My bantam did not have blind spots like with the black masks but it created a seal restricting airflow causing it to fog up really bad. The spray, Rainex nor Dawn dish soap tricks worked. It was worth a try.
It works, but way expensive for what you get
This is just a piece of flimsy plastic that flops all over the place. It should be molded plastic so it could just snap in and be secured. You are paying $20 for something that literally costs less than a dollar to make. Minnesota has onerous restrictions on youth hockey as of this writing 1/6/21 and the Concept III shield and this Splash Guard were just approved for our kids… read more to use so we could get back on the ice. My 9yr old squirt said it performed fine and the shield didn't fog up. Best part is he was able to breathe and didn't have to have a cloth diaper on his face that restricted breathing. Without a doubt, this is a much better option for a child to use than a cloth face covering.
Waste of money
Fogs up before even taking the ice. Used once and never again. Save $20 and get something else if masks are required. Will have to see if I can return. Wish I could give zero stars.
Never got to use
The products were not deemed acceptable by the state of Massachusetts after the hockey shut down so my kids never got to use the product.
State of MA no longer authorized
Bought this to keep my son from having to wear a face mask during play. Shortly after purchasing, the state of MA changed rulings and no longer deemed this product a suitable substitute.
I would give it a lower star if I could
AWFUL My daughter had to take it out and wear a regular old mask
Great idea but fogs up
I think the idea is great so you don't have to wear a mask with the bubble but I find wearing a mask is better because It fogs up and can't see the puck when it is in my feet. I found shampooing the mask and putting fog spray on it helps but still fogs up
Did Not Work For Me
I used mine once and took it off before the game even started. The lack of lower ventilation caused my shield to fog over immediately.
Do not buy!
I bought this and finally figured out how to put it on my sons helmet. It immediately fogged up and he did not want it. Pretty poorly designed.
Significant fog issues
It creates a lot of condensation. As soon as you stop skating, you have to lift up the face shield. I ended up taking it off mid game because I just couldn’t see anything.
Basic
I bought 2 a jr. And a senior. The jr fir nicely into the bubble almost unnoticeable. My youngest son had no issues on ice with it. The senior my oldest has did not fit ss well. Just didnt line up nice like the jr. I bought the bubbles local concept 3 ordered the splash guards we never use bauer equipment this was a change. Pleased with results for a stupid rule covid hockey sucks
These are awful!!!
These don't attach and cover the holes very well. Plus they don't even cover all of the holes in the Concept III shield. Just use the shield because there's no benefit to these. Not worth the money!!!
Poor performer
We tried these on my son's shield (peewee major). Despite the picture, this insert is a soft and floppy piece of plastic, not a rigid insert. The insert is meant to be held in place on the inside of the shield, covering the top row of air holes, with several very small velcro tabs. We found the velcro tabs to be pretty weak and unreliable in terms of holding the insert in place.… read more More importantly, there is simply not enough air flow while wearing this insert. His shield was fogging badly almost immediately (yes, we use an anti-fog product as well) with little remedy as the game/practice wore on. Poor performer; do not recommend.
Cheap - don’t waste your money
I bought two of these for my two boys. I did not realize how cheap these were made. You would do just as well putting plastic wrap over the shield.
Meets the requirements for Michigan
Bought this for my kids one has a Bauer Concept III adult Shield the other a junior CCM shield. It fits both but fits best on the Bauer as one would expect. The biggest criticism is it fogs up and didn’t fit as tightly as I would like.
Doesn't fit
Doesn't fit son's adult Bauer helmet and correct Bauer face shield guard. Directions are so poor, they may as well not be included. Also seems pretty flimsy and probably won't last long anyway
Terrible Engineering
Aside from the fog issues that were expected, it is a poorly engineered and manufactured piece of junk. You would be better off using clear tape to tape over the holes in your helmet.
Don't buy
total waste of money. This causes the mask to fog up even more even with the fogging spray or soap. Nothing works.
