CCM Axis Pro Goalie Pants Review

Would not recommend

I’ve had these for less than a season and they are useless. I feel every shot between the top of the quad pad to the top of my hip bone. I’m left with bruises on my hips/hip flexors after every practice. I am 22F playing ACHA womens D1. Literally no reason to feel shots at this level.

Well thought

Love these things. Super protective. Been using them for about 4 months. The only issue I've had was the exterior belt taking a puck and not having a way to replace the broken plastic buckle.

Excellent pant

I second everything in the Anonymous review. These pants are really thought out, and put together well. The pants also fit very well - I'm closer to a medium in size and bought a large of these, and they're roomy but they also don't feel like you're swimming in the gear. Additionally, an upgrade from the EF Shield 2 is that the internal belt length is considerably larger. I had… read more a lot of issues with the short inner belt on the EF, but this has length to spare.

Well thought out

Only used them for about two hours so review will be a little light. This pair of pant seems more oriented towards a goalie who tucks. The sides come up fairly high. Can’t really speak of protection since I haven’t taken any shots to the pants although I don’t thinks protection will be of concern for the average user. They feel pretty beefy and overall construction looks very… read more good. I would list mobility as very high. The pant sits fairly high above the knee, but can be extended by about an inch by unzipping them to extend length. Ingenious idea. The front of the pant is very roomy and a double or triple cup should not be an issue. This good very well be one of the most intelligently engineered pair of pants on the market. The only negative I have an issue with is the location of the rivets to attach the suspenders. It’s location is almost to side of pant. Net coverage seems excellent due to foam blocks on side of pant.
