Solid skates

This skate is solid. The boot is light but protects like no other. I’ve worn ccms and Reeboks, but I’m all Bauer after these skates. Very expensive though.

Best grip ever!

This is the only thing I will use for grips. Slide on grips are great and don’t take a toll on your gloves like cloth tape will, but they lack that custom feel. With Lizard Skin I can lay down a string of cloth tape and create a cap to my stick and then cover with Lizard Skin and its exactly how I want it. I will use it on every stick I have. 

Good helmet

The padding in this helmet is great and provides protection that I would consider great for a recreational no-checking league. The fit is a little wider and offers a comfortable fit. The helmet does slide around a little bit so I ultimately went to a Bauer with the same size since their fit is slightly more snug, but I had no other complaints about this helmet.

Great helmet for the price

This helmet is great if you’re looking for an affordable, but effective helmet for a recreational no checking league. The fit is snug and it certainly does not provide the padding found in high-end models, but it still gets the job done.  If you find that the fit is too snug, you may want to try a CCM helmet as they seem to be wider when it comes to sizing. 

Clip breaks too easily

I went through two visors and went back to screw in visors. The problem is the clips brake very easily. My first visor’s clip broke thanks to a high stick and the second I did not notice until I got off the ice. If you are okay with constantly replacing the clipping mechanism then it’s a good visor, but after having the same problem twice I was convinced it was not worth it. 

Best glove by Bauer

These gloves are pretty good gloves. The palm is durable and that is usually my number one pet peeve with gloves when the palm wears too quickly or the stitching around the glove begins to come apart. The fingers are very well protected but move easily and do not feel stiff. I especially like the thumb being moveable since it makes you feel more in control of your stick. The cuff does not get in the way either making stick handling rather effortless.
