The other reviewers said they weren't able to use the backpack function on this, but I can. I mean, I wouldn't walk extremely long distances, but I can easily and comfortably use this as a backpack from home to car, car to rink, etc. I do have to bend forward slightly to accommodate it as a backpack. I've used it like 10-15 times so far. So far so good, and I do not notice any tears or such. We will see as time passes, but I'm hoping that the bag holds up over time. I'm a 5'9" adult, and it holds all my ice hockey gear, but there isn't a lot of extra room in the bag. If you're a 6' 5" person with all your gear, it might be a tight fit (or not a fit) in terms of fitting all your gear because your gear will be a bit larger. For me the downside is that it really doesn't have any ventilation. But I take all my stuff out as soon as I get home from the rink. When I'm storing my gear at home (i.e. between rink sessions and during months off), I store my gear in a mesh bag to keep the air circulation going. I believe that air flow is important to prevent any issues with odor and bacteria. I just use this bag for the actual transportation from home to rink. I'm happy so far.

These are great. I have Bauer compression pants with the Velcro that attaches to these, the system works great. These socks are lightweight, and they help keep my shins in place. I am 5' 9" and I got the senior size, which fits great (I like that I have enough length so that I can bend my knees without any real strain being put on the Velcro connection). I feel for the reviewer who's 6' 4" (if I understood correctly) who said he wishes they were longer so that they would work better for someone of his height. Works great for my height, though. I bought them in a local Monkey Sports store.
