CCM Super Tacks AS3 Pro Ice Hockey Skates - Junior Review

Very stiff and hard to break in

Bought these as I have always worn CCM tacks. Super hard to break in. Had the skates baked, punched, and added superfeet. After about a dozen uses it still feels like skating in ski boots. I find the stiffness of the boot is nearly unbearable to skate in. Hopefully they soften up or I have a very expensive pair of bookends.

CCM AS3 Pro’s are Awesome.

My son skates 4 or more times per week. I’ve always like the way he’s skated in Bauer Vapors because of the the fit which he said he loved. When it was time for new skates he wanted to try on the AS3 Pros. The minute he put the on he loved them. He said the heel lock was even better than his Vapors so we went ahead with the CCMs. The first time he skated with them I noticed… read more the difference in his skating. Faster, stronger and his edges were great. He loves the one piece boot. I don’t think he’ll be using Bauer again anytime soon.

Great skates that are probably worth the money....

Absolutely killer skates. Took a little while to get used to the stiffness coming from an 18 year old pair of Grafs but now that I know how tie them, I feel like I'm flying out there.

Great Skates! Upgrade your steel though!

High quality boot. Pure Hockey sales rep was excellent supporting me during my fitting. Grabbing different sizes to make sure I was happy with my fit. I am disappointed CCM no longer offers Step Steel runners. The XS Black has been a dim spot on an otherwise excellent high end skate.

Better than Bauer, More Power, Best Skates out

Best skates ever. I have used Bauer vapors forever, but these skates blow them away. More connected to the ice and more power transfer because there is no plastic plate. The holder is directly on the boot. Not cheaply made like the Bauers.

AS3 pro skate

Love the skate. Baked at pure hockey. Got higher volume tongue. Skated an hour straight my first time out with minimal rubbing/ break in. The steel is horrible - minus one star- doesn’t belong on top of the line skate. I changed it to step steel. Ccm no longer honors the deal where they give you free step steel with purchase - lame

Amazing

At first sight you are impressed with how good they look. The quality of materials stand out. Next thing is the weight, these puppies are incredibly light. The boot is very stiff as advertised which is taking some adapting for me but so far I love it. I chose not to bake them and break em in the old fashioned way and even without baking they were exceptionally comfortable the first… read more time. They added some good pep to my step. k highly recommend them, of course I would study your foot first and make sure the shape of these is right for you. I have a narrow heel and a semi-wide forefoot, the foot bed is very accommodating for that.
