CCM FitLite FL40 Hockey Helmet - Senior Review

PAINFUL

I’m quite petite and fit into junior equipment. Despite ordering this CCM “Senior” helmet in Medium, I swear my Bauer Junior helmet isn’t THIS tight. Another reviewer mentioned this helmet squeezed their skull so tight, their eyes felt like it was gonna pop out — that was exactly my experience with this helmet. If the price point is tempting you to buy it, look… read more at the size chart and order 2 sizes above what it suggests. Otherwise, it’ll feel like a lobotomy.

Fits and protects well

I am a senior and have hit the ice a couple of times already. This helmet provides excellent padding and protection and fits comfortably.

Inexpensive, runs small

I wear 7 1/8 to 7 3/8, depending on the hat. Although that put me in the medium size for this helmet it was way too small. Ordered the large. Hockey Monkey doesn't do direct exchanges, so I had to order the large, pay for it and get a refund (minus $10 shipping and my shipping cost).. New helmet and refund were prompt. Good value

I don't think you can get better value out of any other brand. The helmet is surprisingly comfortable and light. A little difficult to get certain visors to fit.

Caveat emptor

Doesn't even come close to fitting. My head measures 3/4" less than the large max size listed, and putting on this helmet just about makes my eyes pop out of my head.

Too small

While the helmet itself seems to be of adequate quality, the size chart listed on the website isn't accurate. According to the size chart (and on the tag on the helmet itself), I should be wearing medium. When it arrived, the helmet is way too small.
