Decent Value Bucket

Basically what the summary says, its a good bucket combo for the price. It protects your head and fits fairly well. I have a decently large head and the adjustment clips on the side allowed it to open up exactly where I needed it for a snug fit. My head does sweat a good bit with it on but all helmets are sweaty in my experience anyway.

Good value

Buying multiple helmets for my daughter and son, all of them priced higher than this one, I have come back to this helmet as the size seems "normal" for heads. CCM seems to have a slim head, giant jaw thing going for it and the bauer line seems more average. Please note that as your child moves from youth to small that the combo cage might not work, however the bauer prodigy cage… read more will fit onto a small 5.0 and that combo works perfectly until they grow into the included cage.

Great entry helmet

Bought this for my 4 year old who is just starting out in skating. Didn’t want to spend a lot in case he didn’t like skating but wanted something decent. With the easy size adjustment he’ll be in this for a while till we go for one of the more advanced units. Will probably be buying my daughter one as well as she’s outgrown her original one.

WRONG SIZE CHART

The size chart on here is wrong. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Ordered a large according to this chart, but it was too big. Looked at the tag in the helmet and it has a completely different chart. Contacted Hockey Monkey customer support and they blamed Bauer for sending the wrong chart and would not cover my return shipping costs ($15-20). They have had this helmet… read more for several years. Pure Hockey and Ice Warehouse both have the correct sizes listed online. There is no way they didn’t know about the wrong size chart. Even so, customer service (including the supervisor) refused to take ownership of this. It’s been 2 weeks of me sending a picture of the actual size chart from the helmet and they still haven’t updated it here. Also, I received a HECC 2018 certified helmet (it's currently January 2020). So you’re getting a helmet that’s already over a year old. I was still going to return it and eat the costs since I need a helmet. But after getting halfway through the return form that customer service sent me (there’s no online submission), I realized they sent me the return form for their baseball division. At that point I gave up dealing with customer service and took the helmet to my local shop for exchange credit and got the same helmet in the right size and 2019 certified. There's no denying Hockey Monkey has good prices - but they cut corners in customer service. For something that needs to fit right and costs a lot to ship back, you may be better off just going to a local store.

I highly recommend

I highly recommend this product.I would definitely buy these again.They are durable and look cool.This is much softer foam, way more comfortable and really for a base level helmet it is more like a 2nd or third tier in terms of how comfortable it is.

Good entry level helmet

This helmet is a decent entry level helmet, and you can't beat the price. It comes down a bit more over the ears than some of the higher tier helmets by Bauer, and it is a bit heavy. The sizing mechanism is very easy to use if needed. Overall, I am happy with this as my first helmet for learning and practice, although I may change when I get in league.

Great Helmet Great price

Ordered this helmet combo after trying a competitors similar level helmet and it was a night and day difference. My previous helmet was really hard foam (might as well hit the ice with how hard it was), this is much softer foam, way more comfortable and really for a base level helmet it is more like a 2nd or third tier in terms of how comfortable it is.

Decent Helmet

Got this helmet for my 17 year old son. He likes it, he said that the only downside to the helmet is that it's a little bit heavy on his head. But he deals with it. It's not terrible but he definitely notices a difference compared to his previous helmet.
