The right fit
I always wore Bauer helmets and recently tried the Re-Akt 75 - too much space on the sides of the helmet. I tried this and it fits like a glove. Now I feel like Ive been sleeping on CCM my whole life.
Finally a new helmet
They've come a long way since my last helmet purchase 25 years ago!
New lid
Son moving up form Bantham to High School hockey so we need a new helmet with better protection. Thrid game wearing the new helmet our son got driven into the boards hard after scoring a goal. Pretty much a bongo your mellon hit that was unecessary. We would like to say the helmet proctected him much better than the previous one -he hit face first into the glass and was skaken… read more up. One shift later he was back the ice.
Spend the money
So happy with this purchase…how much is your melon worth? 5 bucks? Wear a 5 dollar piece of crap. if you respect yourself spend a little more for the peace of mind. Very comfortable.
Better than expected helmet

CCM Tacks 710 Helmet
Bought for my son (age 14). He loves the fit and padding system in the helmet. Bought a separate face cage and it fit well too.
Can helmet.
Very comfortable for my 11 daughter. She tried on 4 different helmets. The only issue is the snaps for the cage to the back of the helmet are impossible for her to snap and difficult for an adult. Bauer makes snaps that are a combination of a sliding and snap into place. Much easier.
Turning things around
The fit is fantastic and the attendant at the store went above and beyond any service I’ve had at that store. I’ve actually been trying to not go there because the service in the past was so bad, but after this experience I will start going bac!!
Great Helmet - comfortable and plenty of protectio
Bought it for my 16-year old son who plays AA hockey. He said it was very comfortable. One time he got checked into the board from behind at a high school game, he said afterward he barely felt anything. Great value for the comfort and protection.
Great helmet and great fit!
This helmet was the best fitting helmet I have ever tried on. I have a more oval head than round and this gives me no temple or forehead pressure. I would recommend it to everyone. I wanted to get a cheaper one but in the end, the fit is what made me go with this one. Plus, its your head, you might want to keep it safe.
Pricey but soooo comfortable.
Great bucket! I'm getting back into the game and also a glasses wearer. The comfort of this helmet is the best I've found personally. Plus the padding on the sides conforms a bit to my 4 eyes. More expensive than I wanted to spend but comfort is king. (I was opting for the Bauer 4500 cause well you know, retro...) but very happy with this bucket.
Great fit with Solid Protection
I tried on a few different helmets looking for the one that fit me the best. I have a larger head and this was the most comfortable with a nice amount of protection as well. I added a cage to it since I fell most comfortable that way. Recently used it outside playing pond hockey and it didn't bother me at all for the few hours I was out there.
Comfortable protection
The CCM TACKS 710 helmet is very comfortable, the weight of the helmet isn't bad even with a cage. I like the protective features the D3O foam and the bladders, this helmet is a step up from my last bucket which was a CCM RESISTANCE 300. This is a really nice helmet.
Good option for wider heads
My son (age 7) was having issues with helmets fitting too tightly in terms of width to the point of causing headaches. After purchasing several that seemed to work well in the store only to find out the problem persisted in practice, we went to Pure Hockey and with the help of the sales staff (and trying on more options) we landed on the Tacks 710. It has worked tremendously well… read more - increasing the enjoyment of my son's experience with hockey. The assistance we got from the staff helped greatly in this regard! My only critique is having to spend this much on a properly fitting helmet for a first year Mite. I know that hockey gear is expensive in general, but having a model with similar fit at the $100 price point would be better. Perhaps this is more a critique of the helmet manufacturers and not Pure Hockey!

I’ve had this helmet for over 3 years and I’d used and loved it ever since. Super comfy, can adjust super easy to any head, and is very durable.
A nice Upgrade/Fit and Better protection

Impressive
I decided to try the Tacks helmet after a teammate switched to it. I wasn't crazy about the design until I put it on. This helmet provides the best fit, feel, and protection I've ever had. I'm the smallest guy on my team, and get knocked down the most. I've collided (literally head to head) with guys twice my size, taken direct hits, slap shots, you name it. It has a nice amount of D30, which is comfortable and provides a lot of protection. After using the helmet for almost 2 years now it still feels new, and is one of the best pieces of equipment I've invested in.
Great Helmet, very adjustable and comfortable.
I bought this sight unseen online. It has much better padding than their old style helmets and the adjustments are easy and precise. Vintage look on the outside, new science in the padding inside. I wear a 7-1/4 hat size, so the medium fit perfectly. Good purchase for rec hockey and less expensive than some others. I would recommend it to anyone, any level.
Great helmet for a wide head
My daughter has hated every helmet ever. She's got a very wide head and has been incredibly difficult to fit. She loves this helmet. Previously I'd just gotten accustomed to her complaining about her helmet after every shift. It's been a peaceful bench ever since this helmet graced her squirt head. It's durable and easy to adjust. My first non-Bauer helmet
This helmet is fantastic and that’s coming from a lifelong Bauer fan-boy. I went to the local Pure Hockey expecting to walk out with a Bauer and after trying everything on (including the Warrior and True’s) I found that the CCM 710 was simply just the best fit. I’ve had this helmet for quite some time now and I love it. Combined with the CCM FV1 and it’s a gorgeous and comfortable way to keep your noggin safe.

I bought this helmet for my son about 3 weeks ago and he seems to be pleased with it. He was wearing a Reebok 11K for about 4 years and didn't want to get rid of it but it started to hurt his head. So far so good.

Works great for my 13 year old son, Tried all the brands and this was the most comfortable. The low end CCM was also a good fit but of course he picked this one. Only trouble was finding a mask to cover it. CCM and Bauer didn't fit so went with the warrior. Your probably saying what? maybe Pure hockey just didn't have the right size for this small helmet. Good fit/comfy foam, great impact protection
So I had an adult league game the day I bought this. No joke...2nd period, coasting backwards towards the boards to grab the outlet pass, I hit a rut and went skates-up, 18" from the boards. Basically, the #1 fall that I'm still worried about, even playing down in this over-40 beer league. Anyway...my back hit first, then I actually HEARD the back of my head hit...it was LOUD. I almost went cheap & bought the model below this, and I'm glad I didn't. I can't swing the FL3DS, but for ~$160, this is by far the best piece of gear I've purchased as I come out of retirement this year. This is my first CCM helmet ever (was still rocking my old Reebok 7k!), and I doubt I buy any other brand, from now on...I'm sold, y'all. REAL sold.
Family's favorite helmet
All 4 of us in my household play hockey (me, 2 sons, and my wife), and 3 of the 4 of us use the CCM Tacks 710 as either a game helmet, ref helmet, or coaching helmet (or in my younger son's case, all of the above). Its combination of fit, airflow, and cost are far better than the ReAkt helmet I have.
Just buy it. Best feeling helmet I’ve worn.
Comfortable wicks moisture from in front of your eyes to the side of your temples.
Excellent fit and protection
I wasn't wild about spending so much for a helmet, but this one fit very well and seems to have excellent protection. CCM has two different profiles for fit, and this one did the trick. I tried on competitors' helmets and kept coming back to this one. HM staff in Greenwood Village was very helpful and encouraged me to take all the time I needed to get the right size and fit.

Nice Helmet
I’ve worn the 710 for three games and 4 coaching sessions. Very comfortable helmet. I have an oval head and the fit is perfect. I am very glad I picked this helmet.
New equipment
Came in to pure hockey with my son who needed a new chest protector, elbow pads and shin pads. The guys at pure hockey size my son and gave me 2 to 3 options of equipment that would be appropriate for him. I never felt pressured into buying the most expensive pieces of equipment that the choice was clearly mind to make.
Do your head a favor!!
I had been using a couple of other competitors helmets and have never been able to say they were comfortable. That has changed with this helmet! I no longer have distracting discomfort and now able to completely concentrate on my game. Do your head a favor and get a CCM 710!!
Fantastic Helmet
I've been a Jofa and Reebok guy for a while, and recently wore the FitLite series of helmets. It was time for a replacement and I decided to put brand name aside and look at the best helmet I could get with a $200 budget. I tried on the Bauer IMS 5.0 and while I preferred the look of the Bauer, the CCM Tacks 710 fit like an absolute glove. The cage profile also seems to afford… read more better vision for me compared to cages I've used in the past (I miss my half shield, but after a rough high stick to the face I decided to go back to the cage for a while). The adjustment of the helmet is the easiest I have ever used - one switch on the back of the helmet to flip and adjust away, and clamp back down when finished. Finally, there is no sticky garbage inside the helmet like the Reebok/CCM Fitlite series - one warm day in the garage and all of the gel lining is sliding around inside the helmet and eventually sticking to your head during wear. Not so with this one. I highly recommend at least trying this helmet out - CCM got this right.
Very comfortable helmet
I bought this helmet for my son. We tried them on at our local Pure Hockey and this helmet was, for him, the most comfortable. It has great shock absorbing features that help me feel like he is as safe as possible. And the size adjusting is super easy to operate. So easy he can adjust it on the bench between shifts. If you have an round vs. oval head this helmet is of you. Solid, comfortable lid with multiple layers of internal protection. If you compare the protection to the competition in the same price range you'll be impressed.
Multi-directional fit means perfect fit
I bought this helmet for myself and could not be happier. The helmets multi-direction fit allows adjustment from front to back, and side to side providing a fit snug enough to stay in place while never feeling constricting.
